Manchester United: Arjen Robben-esque Tahith Chong could be unleashed under Mauricio Pochettino

Manchester United may have a readymade attacker waiting to be unleashed by Mauricio Pochettino next season in Tahith Chong.

The Argentine is the favourite to become the next Red Devils manager, along with Erik ten Hag, and if his Spurs and Southampton teams are any indicators, he likes inside forwards with raw pace and trickery.

Chong, who’s plying his trade on loan at Birmingham City this season is already proving why he’s above the Championship and deserves a taste of Premier League football.

His blistering speed coupled with his ability to beat players for fun and take a shot immediately after that has led to many comparing him with Bayern Munich and Netherlands legend Arjen Robben.

The 22-year-old, who’s also a Dutchman has enjoyed an incredible season with Birmingham, although he faced a major injury midway through it.

There were fears that he would not be able to return to his terrifying best, but he managed to silence his critics on Saturday, March 19.

Despite the game against Swansea City ending 0-0, anyone who watched the game will tell you that Chong was at a different level.

In the first half, the youngster should’ve had two assists under his belt and also a goal if he managed to convert the half chance.

The second period saw the Swans dominate the ball, but even then Chong managed to prove how good a talent he is.

Pochettino is known to be a manager who promotes youth and makes them quality young players and there’s no reason why Chong cannot benefit from his tutelage at Manchester United.
