Report: Club Brugge star Charles De Ketelaere responds 'coldly' to Leeds United interest

In-demand Club Brugge forward Charles De Ketelaere has responded negatively to a potential move to Leeds United according to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.

Leeds have been rumoured to be preparing a £26million bid for the 21-year-old forward, as reported by The Daily Mail.

However, Calciomercato reported on Saturday 25 June that the winger is not keen on a move to Elland Road with AC Milan his preferred destination.

The player [De Ketelaere] has responded coldly to the advances of the Whites, preferring a leading scenario in Italy to a secondary one in England,” wrote Calciomercato.

“The player is on vacation and will remain until the end of next week, and in this period of time, much of his near future will be decided.”

De Ketelaere is a serious talent and it is completely understandable why there is so much interest in the forward this summer.

The 21-year-old has managed 14 goals and seven assists in the Belgium Jupiler League in the 2021/22 campaign and would be a huge coup for Leeds if they managed to pull the move off.

However, the draw of European giants AC Milan may be a little too much for the forward to refuse despite the size of Leeds United.

If he doesn’t move to Elland Road this summer, he is certainly a player that will be featuring in the Premier League in the not-to-distant future.

the 21-year-old would be an ideal replacement for Raphinha if the winger did decide to depart Elland Road this summer.

His record in the 2021/22 season is extremely impressive for a 21-year-old and has seen him gain international recognition with the Belgium national side.

Definitely a player to keep an eye on.
