West Brom considering loan move for Aston Villa youngster Cameron Archer - report

West Brom are considering a move for Aston Villa’s in-demand striker Cameron Archer, as revealed by the Express and Star.

The newspaper revealed on Tuesday 14 June that the Baggies are eying the 20-year-old as a strike partner for Daryl Dike.

However, the Baggies may face stern competition for the striker with talkSPORT’s Alex Crook revealing on his personal Twitter account on 10 June that Rangers, Middlesbrough and Watford are all keen on the striker.

Baggies advantage

Steve Bruce may have the upper hand in the transfer fight for Archer.

West Brom are located conveniently close to Aston Villa and staying in and around Birmingham could be appealing for the young striker.

He would be an excellent addition for the Baggies, who desperately need an attacking edge as Bruce looks to prevent their horrific second-half of their Championship campaign from continuing.

The addition of Archer to join John Swift in making his way through The Hawthorns’ front door would go some way to arresting the Baggies goalscoring issues.

Unlike many young players, Archer is born to score goals with low precise finishes in and around the box one of his key strengths.

In tight matches, sometimes a clinical edge can be the difference.

It will certainly be a fight to draw the youngster to The Hawthorns considering the calibre of clubs that are interested in the striker.

However, if can Bruce can secure his signature, a potential partnership with Dike could be an extremely exciting prospect.
