The Athletic’s Jordan Campbell revealed that the youngster had featured in a reserve game and had also been training with the Rangers B team.
Campbell said: “Alex Lowry was back in training last week after his calf issue.
“Played 45 mins for the B team against Spartans at the weekend.
“Trained with them rather than first-team as a way to be eased back in.
“Expected to join up again with first-team next week, all going well.”
Rangers fans should be excited.
The teenager made a big impression on the Ibrox faithful when he made his debut in January 2022, and many Rangers fans are excited to see what he can become.
He made a name for himself in the youth team with several long-range strikes, especially in his goal against Celtic in March 2022 which won the B Team Goal of the Season Award.
The Scotland under-19 international is also a set-piece specialist, possessing an accurate and precise free-kick in his weaponry.
His first team debut against Stirling Albion in January 2022 was a dream come true with the youngster only taking half an hour to get onto the scoresheet.
If he can continue to develop at the rate he has shown, he will endear himself to the Ibrox faithful in no time and become a fan favourite.
Also, if he can link up with the array of attacking talent the club has signed, the likes of Tom Lawrence, Antonio Colak, and Rabbi Matondo, exciting times may be on the horizon for the Gers.
In other Rangers news, Rabbi Matondo could be the next big Welsh talent.
