Southampton consider making an offer for Princewill Ehibhatiomhan

Southampton are considering making an offer for young talent Princewill Ehibhatiomhan, according to a report from Hampshire Live.

The 16-year-old has turned down a new deal at Reading this summer, and he has been on trial with the Saints.

He has impressed during the trial, and the Saints are considering whether or not to make an offer to sign the teenage forward.

The young talent scored in Southampton’s 3-2 defeat against Crystal Palace in the U18 Premier League South on Saturday. 

He scored with a fine curled effort into the top corner from a tight angle, and his performance has given the Saints something to consider.

The club are now considering whether to offer him a deal. Any potential deal would require a fee to be paid to Reading as they have developed the player.

Ehibhatiomhan will turn 17 next month when he will be able to sign a professional deal at Southampton. 

He will follow Sam Amo-Ameyaw who has signed on a scholarship deal this summer from Tottenham Hotspur, while Tyler Dibling has also signed a scholarship deal with the club. 

A host of players including Ehibhatiomhan have left Reading this summer after the club’s academy has been demoted from category one to category two. It now remains to be seen whether Southampton snaps him up.
