Spurs man Ryan Sessegnon drops major Djed Spence hint on Instagram

Spurs defender Sessegnon has dropped a huge hint to Middlesborough’s Djed Spence on Instagram ahead of a potential transfer.

The Middlesborough full-back has been rumoured to be close to a move to North London and the Guardian reported that Spurs had agreed a deal with Boro.

However, Sessegnon, dropped a teaser on Instagram about the transfer, seemingly insinuating the full-back should join him at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium.

Commenting on one of Spence’s Instagram posts, Sessegnon said: “You know what to do now.”

Tottenham-bound?

The England under-21 international is coming off the back of a sensational season with Nottingham Forest as he helped the team gain promotion to the Premier League for the first time 23 years.

He first announced himself to the world with a dominant performance against Arsenal in the FA Cup, where he successfully nullified the threat of Gabriel Martinelli while offensively being a handful for Nuno Tavares, who was subsequently taken off at half-time.

The 21-year-old made 46 appearances for the Reds last term, scoring three goals, providing five assists and becoming a contender for the Nottingham Forest player of the season.

The Guardian reported on (10 June) that Tottenham and Spence’s parent club Middlesborough had agreed a deal but as of yet we are yet to see any confirmation of any transfer.

If Spurs can get this transfer it will transfer their back-line and would be a huge coup for Antonio Conte.

Spence would seamlessly fit into the Italian’s five at the back formation and would be an upgrade on both Matt Doherty and Emerson Royal, who have both failed to live up to expectations since moving to North London.

Also, adding Spence to a list of completed transfers that include the likes of Ivan Perisic and Yves Bissouma, would represent a great window for the Champions League-bound Londoners.
