Tottenham consider move for Bayer Leverkusen starlet Piero Hincapie - report
Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie according to the Mirror (18 June, 03:52pm).
The 20-year-old was a regular in the Bundesliga during the 2021-22 campaign playing 27 times as Die Werkself finished third in Germany’s top flight to earn a Champions League qualification spot.
It was his first season in Europe too having left Talleres in Argentina in 2021 and he even scored his first goal for Leverkusen against Celtic in the Europa League.
Spurs though now want to bring him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium after Hincapie helped Ecuador to qualify for the 2022 World Cup, qualifying from the highly-competitive South American region.
Conte wants to add more depth to his defensive options this summer but have missed out on Inter Milan’s Alessandro Bastoni which is why they have turned their attention to Hincapie

To settle into European football as quickly as he did last season is massively impressive for someone of such a young age.
He not only moved far away from where he’s been so comfortable for his entire life but also did it without his family and to go and perform like he did really shows how good he could be.
It is no surprise to see some big clubs already looking to sign him even after just one season of European football and if he is half as good as Spurs’ last central defensive signing, Christian Romero, then Conte will have a great player on his hands.
You would expect to see the 20-year-old play on the left of the Tottenham back three if he is to be put straight into the starting XI but it may be a smarter decision to slowly bleed him into the fold rather than the immediate throwing into the deep end.
In other Tottenham news, Kion Etete has attracted interest from multiple Football League clubs who all want to sign him on loan for the 2022-23 campaign.
