View: Manchester United must move for Ryan Gravenberch to usher in new era

Ryan Gravenberch seemed to be set for a move to Bayern Munich this summer, but it now looks like that may not happen and that means Manchester United should make their move.

The Dutch starlet is widely regarded as one of the best midfield prospects in world football after breaking through in the Ajax academy in the last two seasons.

His contract is currently set to expire in the summer of 2023, and talks between Bayern and Ajax have reportedly stalled after a disagreement on a transfer fee for the player.

Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag is already confirmed to take over at Old Trafford this summer after four years with the Dutch giants, and he should be ready to bring the 21-year-old with him to England.

United are set to lose Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic on free transfers this summer, while Juan Mata will also leave the club at the end of his contract.

That means midfield reinforcements are absolutely necessary and with Ralf Rangnickโ€™s comments on Friday [April 29] about signing the best young players, it all adds up.

Nobody in the world will know how to get the best out of Gravenberch more than Ten Hag, while he would instantly come into the side as one of the better midfield options who already knows the system.

Reports suggest that Ajax are looking for a package worth a total of โ‚ฌ30m (ยฃ25m) so he wouldnโ€™t be especially expensive, while also immediately improving the side.

It seems like a no-brainer and if the club are serious about adopting new strategies to get back to the top, then this is the deal they should be going all in for.

Gravenberch has all the attributes to be a huge success in the Premier League and at Old Trafford, especially under Ten Hag, and he could be the man to help usher in a brand new era of success at the club.
