View: West Ham need to make Harrison Ashby decision before December

West Ham need to make the decision on Harrison Ashby’s contract one way or the other in the coming weeks before domestic football resumes in December.

The 20-year-old is undoubtedly one of the brightest young talents at the London Stadium and he appears to feel like he deserves regular game time.

He was linked with a move to Newcastle in the summer and it looked like an exit was set in stone but the Hammers pulled the plug on it.[The Daily Mail]

This season, he’s mainly featured for the under-21s, but there was a brief period in which he was neither injured nor was he being picked for games.

That was around the time reports emerged of the club handing him a new deal and him not signing it yet.

With close to six months now left on his contract, the time for West Ham to make their minds up has now arrived.

If the young defender does not seem interested in penning a new deal, then they must use the January window to cash in on his services.

As he has previously been linked to clubs in the Premier League, they could get a decent fee for a player in the final six months of his contract.

In other West Ham news, the club are chasing this Scottish sensation but they are not alone in scouting him as he continues to set the pitch alight north of the border.
