West Ham close to Armando Broja agreement - David Ornstein
West Ham are close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea for 20-year-old striker Armando Broja, according to David Ornstein.
The Hammers have been in the market for another forward to bolster their attacking options and increase their offensive firepower and have been linked to Broja for some time now.
However, this new report from The Athletic’s Ornstein claims that the two London clubs are close to an agreement for a permanent deal. [The Athletic]
Ornstein said: “Broja has left Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the US to head back to England as the two clubs continue to hold talks over a permanent deal.
“It is believed personal terms between Broja and West Ham have already been agreed but the contract length is as yet undetermined.
“Sources indicate the proposed move has not developed at the request of Chelsea, rather it is being driven by Broja and his desire to be starting regular first-team matches.

West Ham have got their man?
Broja was one of several forwards the Hammers targeted, alongside the likes of Arnaut Danjuma and Gianluca Scammaca.
David Moyes has been seemingly eager to add a new offensive weapon to his arsenal and inject more goals into his team.
In Broja the Hammers are signing a player who not only has a huge future, and bags of potential, but also has the capacity to positively affect his team in the present, as he shown during his season-long loan spell at Southampton last season.
The Albanian striker made 30 appearances in the Eredivisie for Vitesse Arnhem during a loan in the 2020/21 season, scoring 10 goals during that while aged just 18.
Last season, he continued his rapid development, making 38 appearances in all competitions for the Saints, scoring nine goals.
He has also established himself as a regular for his national team, having made 14 appearances for Albania in the last two years.
Should West Ham get this deal over the line, it would be an astute acquisition that should help share the goal-scoring burden that Michail Antonio currently carries.
In other West Ham news, the club are reportedly close to selling midfielder Sonny Perkins.
